A friend and I share an interest in all these small towns and resorts that have faded into the foliage in Illinois. If there is ever an opportunity to visit Vishnu Springs, could you please contact me? Thank you so much for the history and photos.

Hi, I was trying to figure out if this is a place we can visit. It seems very interesting. I would love a tour. The hotel looks to be in good shape. Must have been good stone ;)

Subject: Want to go SOON!

I found out about Vishnu Springs about two years ago, and have become just less than obsessed with it. I have never visited, but hope that I can soon go and see the remains of the resort. Hopefully, there will be an open house in the foreseeable future and I can finally get a first hand look! I very much appreciate the info on this website, and thank whoever took their time to get it all together, as i'm sure, it was no easy task!

The Friends of Vishnu will be meeting soon to determine if there will be an open house this fall. We will post to this site - and to the group page on facebook when we know what's going on.

Subject: Return to Vishnu

Sunday was a beautiful day to return to Vishnu Springs. I had not been there since the early seventies. The memories came flooding back. Large gatherings of colorful free spirited students enjoying the music in a beautiful natural setting. I congratulate the Friends of Vishu Springs for their efforts in opening up Vishnu, even for just a day. Of course meeting an old girl friend made the day even better!

Back in the 70s, John Ryan married Laury Geyer at Vishnu. The group photo was on the cover of Sunrise magazine. Have you ever seen this ?
