Vishnu Springs Guestbook Entries

I have read about and have actually dreamt about Vishnu. I am 61 years old, and am a retiree from the Air Force AND the state of Illinois and I would LOVE to volunteer to help preserve and restore the Vishnu site. I have assisted in historic preservation before out west and did not even realize something as Vishnu even existed this close to where I live here in Rockford. If there are any restoration or presevation projects involving Vishnu PLEASE let me know as I have a feeling that there is a reason I have been made aware of this at this time. This is important...the history of this land beckons and those of us who feel it are compelled to act to preserve and restore its beauty and history. Subject: Open House in 2013

There was no open house this fall (2012) at Vishnu. There is talk of having a spring open house (2013), however. Thanks for your continued interest and support.

Subject: Memories

Have good childhood memories of Vishnu Springs. The lovely little rooms, the koi fish and the peace that permeates this place made an impression on me even as a 10 year old in the 70's. Best of luck and hope the place will return to some form its former self. When its operational again, my suggestion would be to put a LIKE button on this page for facebook.

Subject: ghosties

This is a response to a message titled: "hotel haunted?"

I was stuck there for 5 days in the winter of 72 because my car would'nt go up the hill in the driveway. Nothing went bump in the nite it was just awesomely quiet.

Subject: GREAT DAY

Just would like to say thanks for having open house to Vishnu Springs on 10/16/20111 was a great day for the walk to get back in there. My cousin and I had a great time she shared her memory of when she was a little girl of 8 years old and her dad and grandpa took her to Vishnu Springs and she still remember it today . I thought it was pretty net and what a place it could be with a little work it could be use for some camping get away . I do hope you do this again so i can bring some more of my friends who i have told about this blast from the past .Thanks again for sharing and making memory for others . Subject: Open House 2011

Thanks to all who gave of their valuable time and energy to work at the Open House on Sunday, October 16. It is the first time I've ever visited Vishnu, but will not be the last! You are doing such a great thing by trying to maintain the integrity of the land and building while making it accessible to the public! It is my wish that some truly benevolent soul will someday see the value of making a sizeable donation to your cause in order for the grounds to be, once again, utilized by the public for everyone to enjoy the beauty of Vishnu!
